The grape variety
Gewurztraminer is the king of Alsatian grape varieties, it is a pink-grained grape variety, from the Traminers family. It is also called aromatic pink savagnin. Its history is long confused with that of the pink savagnin and for good reason: it comes from the latter grape variety of which it is a more aromatic variety.
